Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all purchases made through UNIVERSITETET I OSLO (Org. No. 971035854), operating via our website/app naturhistorisk-museum.shoppin.no. Payments may be processed using Stripe, including payment methods such as Vipps, cards, and other supported methods.
1. General
We want our customers to be satisfied with their purchase. This policy explains when you are entitled to a refund, how cancellations work, and how refunds are processed.
All prices are listed in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
2. Right of Withdrawal (Angrerett)
If you are a consumer residing in Norway or the EEA, you generally have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days from the day you receive the goods or, for services/digital products, from the day the agreement is entered into, in accordance with the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (Angrerettloven).
Exceptions
The right of withdrawal may not apply to:
- Digital content delivered immediately after purchase where you have expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that the right of withdrawal is lost
- Services that have been fully performed with your prior consent
- Customized or made-to-order goods
- Sealed goods that are not suitable for return due to health or hygiene reasons, if unsealed after delivery
Where an exception applies, this will be clearly stated at checkout.
3. Cancellations
Before fulfillment
You may cancel your order before it has been fulfilled or delivered by contacting us at museumsbutikken@nhm.uio.no. If the order has not yet been processed, you will receive a full refund.
After fulfillment
If the order has already been fulfilled or delivered, the cancellation will be treated as a return or withdrawal and handled according to Section 4 below.
4. Returns & Refunds
Physical goods
- You must notify us of your intent to return the goods within 14 days of receipt
- Returned items must be unused and in their original packaging unless otherwise agreed
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or incorrect
Digital products & services
- Refunds are only provided if required by law or if the product/service is defective or not delivered as described
5. Refund Processing
Once your return or cancellation is approved:
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout (e.g., Vipps, card)
- Refunds are normally processed within 5–10 business days
- Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the funds to appear in your account
We do not charge any additional refund fees.
6. Defective or Incorrect Products
If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect product, please contact us at museumsbutikken@nhm.uio.no as soon as possible. In such cases, we will cover return shipping costs and offer a replacement or full refund, in accordance with Norwegian consumer protection laws.
